Greek Real Estate Law and Property Transactions

Comprehensive Legal Counsel for Real Estate in Greece

Buying, Selling or Managing Property in Greece from Abroad

Acquiring, selling, leasing, or managing property in Greece requires careful legal planning, thorough due diligence, and coordinated execution.

Ownership records, cadastral registrations, existing encumbrances, planning issues, contractual obligations, and family ownership arrangements can all affect the viability of a transaction and the protection of the client’s interests.

ACMA LAW FIRM advises private clients, families, international investors, and businesses on real estate matters throughout Greece.

Our services cover the entire lifecycle of a property transaction, from title investigations and preliminary negotiations to the execution of notarial deeds, cadastral registration, lease management, and the resolution of ownership disputes.

We work closely with notaries, engineers, accountants, certified valuers, real estate brokers, and financial institutions to provide coordinated legal support tailored to the specific property and transaction.

  • Yes. Foreign residents can purchase property in Greece, subject to the legal requirements applicable to the particular transaction and, in certain cases, restrictions relating to specific areas or the nationality of the buyer. Depending on the property, additional Cadastre, planning and technical matters may also need to be reviewed in coordination with an engineer.

  • We generally recommend obtaining legal advice before making a binding commitment or paying a significant deposit. The appropriate approach depends on the terms of the proposed transaction.
